The Governing Body

The role of governors is to ensure clarity of ethos.  We also maintain the quality of Teaching and Learning and that the strategic direction of the school continues to meet the high standards expected.

We hold the Headteacher and senior leaders to account for the delivery of an effective and bespoke education for all pupils whilst also supporting them as a critical friend.

We are rigorous in overseeing the financial performance of the school, ensuring that every penny of the budget is spent well.

Governors devote their own time to attend full governing body, curriculum and finance sub-committee meetings every term. The Headteacher delivers a comprehensive report at each meeting for discussion and information.

Governors regularly visit school to conduct learning and environmental walks and lesson observations with senior staff. This is to ensure that the school is implementing the policies and procedures effectively. Governors actively interact with staff and pupils, gather their views on how the school can provide the best for all concerned.

As governors, we take pride in our strong commitment to make sure there are high expectations of all pupils. We aim to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children.

Governors regularly attend parents’ coffee mornings, support the school fundraising and charity events and participate in school trips.

The governing body is made up of a diverse group of people who work hard, and use their range of skills, expertise and experience to benefit the school generally but in particular the children.
