Admissions
At Whitehall Nursery and Infant School we aim to be an inclusive school that welcome admissions from children of all faiths, backgrounds and beliefs into our community. At our school we follow the general policy and criteria of Walsall LA, who use the following criteria in order of priority for admitting pupils to school.
- Children looked after by a Local Authority (in accordance with section 22 of the Children Act 1989) and children who were previously looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted or became subject to a residence order or special guardianship order
- Having a brother and sister in the school
- Relevant medical and/or social factors
- Proximity of the home address to school.
September admissions to Reception… are allocated by Walsall Children’s Services and not by our school. Applications are completed online, please contact the Admissions Department for further details.
Mid-year admissions to Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 during the school year… are allocated by Walsall Children’s Services. Once we are notified by Walsall we will invite you to come and look around the school and completed the relevant documentation. Once your child has a uniform a start date can be arranged.
Parents of children who are in Year 2…will receive notification from the Local Authority with the procedure for applying online for a place in Year 3 at a junior school. These places are managed by Walsall Children’s Services.
Please follow the links to Walsall Children’s services to secure a place for your child at our school.
Admission to Nursery
Nursery places are allocated by our school. Please register your interest as soon as possible, at least a year before they will be due to start, otherwise it is unlikely you will secure a place. Parents of those children placed on the schools waiting list will receive a letter in April officially offering them a place. They will also receive an invite to our Nursery open day and a special Play and Stay session during July.
Mid-year admission to Nursery
If a place is available, our school can allocate that to a child. As soon as all relevant documentation is completed and a uniform has been bought a date that best suits the needs of your child, and the children already in Nursery, will be arranged
