The country will be collectively mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II on this day, 19th of September and so a Bank Holiday has been declared. School will be closed all day Monday and re-open on Tuesday the 20th. Please try and watch some of the funeral as this is an historic moment in the life of your child and something that hasn't happened for 70 years.
You will be able to watch the Funeral Service live on the BBC and other News Channels.

Please keep your eyes and ears open for the potential closure of our school on Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon at 1pm. If the temperatures are as high as are predicted then (as our school has no air conditioning and due to our grade two listing some rooms have limited windows that open) we might need to close the school if it gets too hot for the children. Please try and prepare yourself for this with potential child care should it be necessary for us to call you to come and pick your child up at 1pm.
Dress up as a pirate - bring in £1 or £2 and let's raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and have some swashbuckling fun!
Your child will have received their report on Friday the 15th. If you have anything that you need or want to talk to your child's class teacher about then just come along between 3.30 and 5.00 and have a chat.

RHYL is BRILL! Year 2 will need to be at school at 8 o'clock for the long journey to Rhyl. They will have a lovely air-conditioned coach and biscuits and polos to eat and suck all the way. They will also be singing the songs for their 1001 Arabian Nights performance. No learning time is wasted!
All children in school and nursery will be moving into their new year groups to meet their new teachers in their new classrooms! This will take place for the morning and then children will return to their class to continue the day as normal.
If your child is starting Reception this September then you need to come along and go through the induction process.
Commonwealth Games Dance Day
Year 1 will be experiencing the wonders of the safari park to support their learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. If your child is in Year 1 please read the Safari Park Letter to make sure you are ready for the day.
Our Nursery and Reception will be open between 4 and 6pm for you to drop in and see the amazing learning environment that is on offer at Whitehall.
